Journo. That is her name.

This blog space started in the year 2008 and I’ve journeyed with her since then. She is almost always the first one to whom I run to when I needed ‘someone’ to listen. And she never failed me.

It’s been four years my friend, and those four years will always be marked here in the cyber world. I will always be thankful for having you around. Thank you for being the outlet of all my emotions. Thank you for being available anytime, just as long as I have internet connection. Hehe. Good thing you don’t have emotions. You don’t feel the pains I have and you don’t get annoyed when I’m cranky and all. But there’s a big ‘sayang’, for you don’t also feel whenever I’m in great joy. SAYANG :)

Now as I look back to our journey together, I’ve seen that I’ve been so unfair for letting you digest the bitter food I can’t swallow. As I flip your pages, I can see that somehow I’ve failed to be a blessing to others. As I flip your pages, I see that I’ve been so emotional that sometimes it’s so annoying.

Yeah maybe I can debate with that. The very purpose why I befriended you is to have an ‘outlet’, not to inspire other people as they take a look on you.  But since I publicized my friendship with you in the year 2010, I knew it’s my indirect job if not to encourage others, at least not to discourage them. But I guess I failed a little bit with that.

It’s been a memorable journey with you my friend. And I guess it is time to bid goodbye. Don’t worry, I’ll be visiting you from time to time. You will be the one who will remind me of those emo-moments I had and the lessons I’ve learned from those.

Thank you for the four years my friend. I’m gonna miss you big time.

And to my friends who have been with me and checking on me thru this site, THANK YOU. Don’t worry, I won't be far away for wordpress is still there for me.

For now, this is Journo, signing off.

All of us have goals in life. Whether you’re a student, a working professional, a mom or dad, a child, a friend.. Everyone has goals. But of course, whether they are good goals or not, that’s another issue.

As for me, I have my own set. For my personal life as a young pro, a child, a sister, a friend and of course as a minister, they are carefully listed. Of course I’m not perfect and many of those are not met, YET. I’m still pursuing them and one by one, catching them. Many are still yet to be started. And also, many are left unfinished, not because I’ve stopped pursuing them, I’m just looking at my horizon and thinking whether they still fit in.

At this age, I’ve already experienced successes and failures, joys and pains. I’ve cried over many things and jumped in happiness over countless memories. My life has always been into ups and downs. And of course I enjoy it. Many times I’m down, but many more times I’m up. Like what I’ve heard many years ago, “I’m okay. I’m fine. I’m never down. Because it’s either I’m up or GOING UP.” Oh yeah, he rocks!

That line had inspired me a lot of times. Everytime I face failure, I remember that. I should never be down. That’s not the right word. GOING UP should. Yeah right. And now as I face a new challenge, I know it’s time to remember it so well.

I have this goal. You wanna know it? It’s 50% with a minimum of 20. You don’t get it? Well, don’t bother my friend, it’s alright :)

July 22, 2012 was the first chance. It was the prototype. And believe me, I tried my best. WE tried our best. But still, we failed.

But then, the game goes on. I will never stop. We will never be stopped. It is our journey but it is His battle. We just have to hold the armor tight and keep on moving forward. FIGHT.

My eyes are still focused on the goal and my feet are still fixed on the path. No swerving. That’s the only thing that matters.

We have BIG goals and for sure not all of them will be fulfilled. And so, we will fail. But as long as we're doing our best and we're doing it with and for God, then it is a SUCCESS.

God is still God, He never changed. And we are His children. We know He will never leave us. We may fail many times, but we will go on until we say..

“It is MISSION unACCOMPLISHED!”

DG

It’s another day and there’s another war to win. I looked at my shaking hands. Can I really do it?

Sometimes it’s not really what you will do, but for whom you will do it; not really how big the task is, but how important it is.

Good thing there are people who back me up – people who always believe in me, trust me and having confidence in me. And I know that’s because of God, my big Boss, who’s always behind me.

So, what now?

My boss down here and my Boss up there said I can always do it.

What to fear?

Just get up and PREACH IT!

DG

Ilan pa?

Lima pa.

Dami pa.

Kulang pa nga yun eh.

Huh? Bakit? Ilan ba dapat?

Marami. Maraming marami.

Ga’no karami?

Yung hindi mabibilang.

HUH?!

DG
Everyone seemed excited.
“May 1 is your day.”
“I’m so proud of you.”
“God bless your first day.”

Left and right, almost same phrases are heard. I got pressured.
And so I know, I have to quiet my soul.

Where am I?

Last week I was in Antique. We were seven in the team. We arrived there Thursday afternoon and left by Monday morning.
I enjoyed that mission trip. I enjoyed the ministry. But at the end of it, I got so excited to go back here in Manila and quiet my heart and soul before God. Kneel at His feet and ask Him to open my eyes to the things others can’t see, open my ears to the things others can’t hear and let me do the things others can’t do.

BIG DREAMS for God.
BIG VISION for His glory.

But, there’s just one second gap between April 30 and May 1. There would just be a very thin line between DG today and DG tomorrow.
I cannot change big time in one second. Everything is a process – a process I will always undergo.

Before May 1 comes April 30. Before I start a new chapter, an old one must be closed.

Where’s my heart?

I should know it. I should always know it. A lot of things to be changed in me. I may not know everything but at least I should know where’s my heart.

Here I am, kneeling before You oh God. And just one thing I will always tell You..

I AM YOURS.
DG

My clock is ticking. I can’t stop.
I can’t afford to stop. I CAN’T!

I’ve always dreamed about it.
I’ve always ask for it. Now is the time to do it.
Now is the time to fulfill it. NOW!

So PLEASE, don’t stop me.
Don’t let me go down.
Don’t make me feel alone. DON’T!

This is my DREAM. This is my GREATEST DREAM.
I’ve always told You, I cannot die without fulfilling this dream.
I can’t go without seeing them believing in You.
I can’t go without seeing them falling in love with You. I CAN’T.

Lord, this is my cry. From the deepest part of me..
You know this is my deepest desire..

You hold my life.
I will never know if You gonna get it back tomorrow.
So everyday, I’m gonna grab the chance.

BUT..
I NEED YOU to back me up.
I can’t do it alone. You know I can’t without You.

Don’t let me push the button.
I want this music of CONQUEST playing on…
 and hear it play..
until the day You ask me to play..
another song..

DG
[ the continuation.. ]

Syempre, brand new is better. And your own choice will be the best choice. Syempre, gamit mo yun eh.

Imposible. If it’s left, it’s left. And so, we should turn to the RIGHT direction.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Gusto natin ng “good”, “acceptable” at “perfect”.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” -  JOHN 3:16

So pa’no Lord, Happy 6th Anniversary sa’tin! Saka, Happy Birthday naman sa’kin. Haha!

DG
And kekeso pa. Kainis. Ika nga sa ingles, “I’m just stating a fact.” Haha.

Unang beses akong bumati saKanya ng “Happy Hearts’ Day”.
Haha. ‘Di bale, pwede namang bumati ng “Happy Valentine’s Day” lang.
Ikaw? May bumati na ba sa’yo? Sige, batiin na kita,

“Happy Valentine’s Day! May your heart be full of love.”

Oh yan, may “love” pa rin sa dulo. Next time sasabihin ko rin yan sa isang tao.. pero aalisin ko na ‘yung “may your heart be full of..” NEXT TIME.

STOP. “Do you follow Me?”

Honestly, I don’t know.

As 2010 started, I only asked for one thing – DEPTH. January came and I really felt so excited. I know my God has prepared something special for me.

LOOK. “Do you see yourself now?”

Oh well, I don’t want to.

Months passed me. Excitement gone thru me. Struggles almost killed me. Yeah, I don’t want to see myself anymore. I can’t face myself and look inside me. I CAN’T.

LISTEN. “Do you hear Me?”

Oh God, I desperately want to.

It’s December. It rang the bell of END. I looked back.. and I smiled. I know He will never fail me. I will fail Him many many times.. but I know He will never do that to me. I asked for something special and He gave me so much more.

Do I hear Him?

I desperately want to. As I look to this year, I laugh at myself as I remember every smile and teardrop I’ve given. I was so excited, then came struggles and I went low. But my God isn’t thru me, He won’t stop surprising me. As He has given me new challenges to take, He has given me new friends and mentors to journey with.

I know I’m on the right track my Lord. I just want to HEAR Your voice and OBEY everything You say.

THANK YOU for another wonderful year of journeying with You.

I LOVE YOU.

DG

Five years have passed. I haven't felt it. I didn't expect it will last this long.
HAPPY ME. :)

But how about You? Are You Happy? Well, I know You are.
But also, I know I've hurt You that much.

And now, I don't know what path I'm taking.
I do not know where should I go.
I do not know what should I think about.
And this became my favorite word - "WHY?"
And my favorite phrase - "I don't know."

Now, I can only think of one.
Has our covenant expired?
I know it should not. NEVER.
But if ever it has, I appeal for renewal.

I know You'd be glad to sign it.
But can i ask for a favor?
Can You please hold my hand as i sign it?
At least I would feel that I'll never be alone on this job.

And one last thing.
Can You hug me?
I missed You.
I've broke so many promises.
I've turned away many times.
Will You still love me?

[ sigh.. ]
I know You will.

..and I will.. too.

DG

There were walls. Four of them.

I was in the middle.

I could see everything outside - parties, celebrations. People were so happy.
I couldn't help but be thrilled to wander.
I know there were walls, but i was determined to destroy them.

One, two, three..and i found myself outside. Oh how easy it was to break them.

As i stood there, i felt freedom.
I wanted to go a little bit farther, believing i will never get lost.
One step at a time. One moment at a time.
And i enjoyed it.

Then suddenly, I've realized i am nowhere but at a slum.
Hot, crowded, noisy, annoying.

I was in the middle.

And as i stood there, I didn't know how to move.
Where to run. How to get out of it.
I was happy. I enjoyed everything.
But deep inside, i knew it.. i was almost..almost.. in a pit of darkness..

And as i thought of it, i tried to look above.
Thinking maybe..just maybe...
i could find my way back home..

It was so fast. I can't even remember how i got there, AGAIN.

There were walls. Four of them.

I was in the middle.

I could see everything.
But this time, I'm not looking at the parties outside.
I'm viewing how beautiful inside.

He put walls, but they're broken.
He created door, but i have the key.
He had set the boundaries yet the freedom is still mine.

How i love to worship You.
How i love to be with You.
Until eternity.

WHAT MORE CAN I ASK FOR?

DG

New Challenge.
Can’t think right.

Indeed it’s a lot easier to choose between RIGHT and WRONG than to choose between RIGHT and RIGHT.

STAYING. Is it right? Of course! For the sake of my family.
LEAVING. Is it right? Uh, I think so..
For the sake of my call.

Around eight o’clock in the evening. I was on my way home. Riding on a jeepney, my phone suddenly rang.
ACACIA LANE. That’s the exact place where I was. Light turned red and the jeep stopped, and so I answered my phone. It was JoAnne.

Digi: Hello?
JoAnne: Hello!

..blah..blah..blah..blah..blah..blah..blah..blah..blah..blah..blah..blah..

Got it?
Yeah right, she offered me to work at Messiah.
Uh – again?
MESSIAH.
Whenever I hear of the phrase “working at Messiah”, I can only equate it to one word – MINISTRY.

OMG. No, it’s not for me. Definitely NOT.

..blah..blah..blah..complain..complain..complain..grumble..grumble..grumble..

And then came PROVERBS 23:17
Goodness gracious! Of all verses, why this???

..blah..blah..blah..pray..pray..pray..repent..repent..repent..

And NOW, here I am.
No turning back.
And so…

Goodbye TIP.
Hello MESSIAH. :)

[ oooops.. i’m excited! ]

This is my day.

His day.

OUR day!

I took it. But only His name proved it

- May 19, 2009-

I mark this day. It’s a very special one.

     4 years        – suffering

     6 months    – preparing

   4 days         – fulfilling

And today, I got it.
He got it.
WE got it!

The title is mine.  The glory is His.

With all humility and bringing forth all the glory to God.

I’m very proud to say…

- CPA na po ako! -

“How could you Digi?! You’re in the middle of your review.. a week after will be your final preboard. Are you out of your mind?? Does the license still matter to you? Come on Dij, think again.. PLEASE..”

Uh-oh. WARFARE. I know.
Good thing my angel had won. Haha!

HOLY WEEK. I thought it’s a long vacation, and so my family thought I’d be going home.
But I discovered it’s not, and so my review-mates thought I’d be off to school.
Oh well, either way, I’d be off to Antique.
Again? Antique.
Yeah, you’ve read it right. ANTIQUE. Cool isn’t it?

First day      -        Pastors’ Seminar slash Youths’ Gathering
Second day  -        Medical Mission slash Evangelism
Third day     -        Medical Mission slash Evangelism
Fourth day   -        R and R. Woohoo!

Oh yeah, it’s a MISSION TRIP.
A very tiring yet fulfilling mission trip.

Wake up at 5 o’clock in the morning and go to bed at 1 o’clock in the morning…. Ano daw? Haha. Gets? ]
Four hours of sleep after an exhausting  day? Talk about being zombies. Haha.

Devotion.
Preparation.
Breakfast.
Ministry.
Lunch.
Nap. Oh wait, nap?? Haha, yeah I did. [ and I almost forgot to wake up… XD ]
Ministry.
Dinner.
Fellowship.
Pray.
Sleep.

And that was indeed an amazing mission trip! Can’t express it enough.
Believers showing off their faith in the midst of poverty.

Non-believers getting to know Christ. People came for check-ups and medicines and they went home covered by the blood of of Jesus Christ.

Every sweat was compensated more than enough! People’s smiles and “thank you’s” can’t be exchanged for anything.

AMAZING GOD we have. And AWESOME GOD He will forever be!
